VENUE & LOCATION
Where is the event being held?
The event will take place at Prism Spaces, located at 1212 N. Ashland, 2nd Floor, Chicago, IL 60622. Prism Spaces is the only Black-owned co-working space in Wicker Park, Chicago.
What time does the event start and end?
Doors open at 2:00 PM. The program begins at 2:30 PM and concludes at 5:00 PM.

How do I get there by public transportation?
Prism Spaces is accessible via:
- CTA Blue Line: Division Station
- Bus Routes: #9 Ashland, #70 Division

Is parking available?
Street parking is available on Ashland Avenue and surrounding streets, but can be limited. We recommend:
- SpotHero app for reserving nearby parking in advance
- Division/Ashland Parking Garage (1215 N. Milwaukee Ave) – approximately 0.3 miles away
- Using rideshare services like Uber or Lyft
Is there bicycle parking?
Yes, there are bike racks available outside the building. Divvy bike sharing stations are also located nearby.

Is the venue wheelchair accessible?
Please note that Prism Spaces is located on the 2nd floor and does not have elevator access. The venue is accessible only via stairs.
Will there be accessible seating?
Yes, we will have designated seating areas for those who need to be seated throughout the event. Please indicate any seating needs when you register.
Are service animals welcome?
Yes, service animals are welcome at the event.

What is the dress code?
The suggested attire is summer fun! Wear your bright colors, patterns, and festive attire that makes you feel confident and celebratory.
Will food and beverages be served?
Absolutely! Your ticket includes an impressive spread of gourmet heavy hors d’oeuvres and delicious artisanal snacks prepared by acclaimed Black women-owned catering businesses. The menu features a variety of savory and sweet offerings that will satisfy your appetite while you mix and mingle. We’ll also provide a selection of premium beverages, including signature cocktails, wine, and non-alcoholic options. Come hungry – the culinary experience alone is worth the price of admission!
Will there be music?Yes! We’ll have a DJ playing throughout the event, creating a vibrant, energetic atmosphere.
Can I purchase the book at the event?
Yes, books will be available for purchase on-site through Call & Response Bookstore, a Black women-owned bookstore in Chicago. Cash, credit cards, and digital payment methods will be accepted.
Will there be a book signing?
Yes, Judy McCutcheon will be signing books following the moderated conversation and Q&A portion of the event.
REGISTRATION & TICKETS
Do I need to register in advance?
Yes, advance registration is required as space is limited. Please register by June 20, 2025.
What is included in the ticket price?
- Full Experience ($45): Admission and signed copy of the book
- Event Only ($30): Admission with option to purchase books on-site
Is my registration transferable?
Yes, if you cannot attend, you may transfer your registration to someone else. Please email info@kerrymitchellbrown.com with the new attendee’s information.
What is the refund policy?
All sales are final and non-refundable. However, registrations are transferable to another attendee if you cannot attend.
COVID & HEALTH PROTOCOLS
Are there any COVID-19 protocols in place?
We follow current Chicago Department of Public Health guidelines. If guidelines change before the event, we will notify all registered attendees.
What if I’m feeling unwell on the day of the event?
